This update is the last of our low key summer updates.

At the time of this writting we are preparing for the final swim of the 2009-2010 Competitve swim season. In addition to all of the fine accomplishments put forth this year, our athletes training this summer went out with a bang. Please review the Summer Wrap up below.

Congrats to everyone associated with the Upper Canada Swim Club on one heck of a season. I hope you have all had time to rest and relax. The new season is fast appoaching.

Keep an eye on the club website, as well as your email, for new information as it arrives.

See you soon.

Take care,

Brian

SCHEDULE UPDATE
Summer Training
Completed

Ontario Games
An outstanding job by our boys. Chris, Collin and Jordan competed as Brockville's representatives at this summers Ontario Summer Games.
The boys swam a total of 21 races placing 19 in the top 8 and brought home 7 medals overall as key members of Eastern Ontario's second place overall finish.
Congrats on making a big statement!
Summer Camp
Summer Camp will be completed tonight. Congrats to Mackenzie, Amy, Ginger, Max, Ethan, Alexandra, Chiara, Anna and Chloe on a great session including an overall team win in Prescott!
Well done gang!
Open Water
Congrats to the organizers for putting this together last minute. The reward was 24 swimmers attending. Hopefully we can continue to build on this success!
Triathlon
Congratulations to Robert Cooper, Kade Brazeau, Jamie Jordan, and Joah Wiltse on their outstanding performances at the Brockville Triathlon.
Joah finished 4th overall in the Super Sprint, Robert finished 3rd overall in the Sprint (getting these from the paper as I cannot find the results site, sorry to Kade as I'm not sure yet where he finished).
Jamie Jordan was second overall as part of the Tri-a-tri relay.

Pool Shut Down
Sept 1st through to Sept 27th.
It might fluctuate some as many individual contractors will be on site. The Y has estimated the 27th to allow for delays. Might be open sooner, worse case a few days later.
How does it affect us.
Not much really. Mid Sept start into a build up schedule for Bronze plus. We're looking at only 6 to 10 swims missed over two weeks depending on the pogram. Speed Swimmer starts in October so should not affected. Staff is working on alternate training. We have booked the gym, and will look to running and dryland possibly supplemented with some open water swims to get us through.
We'll flesh it out as we approach registration and will have a group by group breakdown for everyone.
